Karma Society
The people Lokapala are fighting, and their relationship with Roland.
Madame Margot Cuvier
For Madame, as she likes to be called, the Lokapala and the civilian population living underground as a whole is nothing but a big pantry to be pillaged whenever needed. She does not seem to see the Lokapala or Roland as a big threat—pretty much nobody in the Karma Society does until it's too late.
Jenna Angel
Jenna Angel is the one who arranged for information and the virus to be leaked to the Lokapala in hope to overthrow Cuvier and remain as the sole leader of Karma Society. To her, the Lokapala are food as well, but so is everyone in the Society deemed to weak to deserve to survive. Though she seems to think of the Lokapala as capable enough to get Sera, probably with a little help from her troops and the virus, she either doesn't seem to think they are a match for her, or she doesn't care.
The Tribhvana
Roland knows this elite group enough to recognize them when they intercept the Embryon atop the Karma Society tower. Perhaps they've already raided the underground districts looking for specific Lokapala members, or they went to hunt for food themselves, or they are so famous that anyone but the Embryon has heard of them. Either way, the Tribhvana are determined to show that AI cannot beat them, and they seem to lump Roland in the AI category when they say that. Not that they'd think a mere man from underground could beat them anyway.
